The National Institute of Personnel Management (NIPM), headquartered in Kolkata, is the body of HR functionaries established in the year 1980. NIPM is the premier all-India institute of professionals engaged in Personnel Management, Industrial Relations, Labor Welfare, and Human Resource Development. NIPM is a professional, non-profit institution with about 11,000 members spread across 55 chapters in most of the capital cities and major industrial towns.

Asia Pacific Federation of Human Resource Management (APFHRM) has evolved from its beginnings in 1977 when Hong Kong, Philippines, Singapore, India and Indonesia were represented at a HR conference in Manila, Philippines. From this time, the Federation has grown and become a more representative body of the region and now has members from the following countries: Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, and Thailand.
